"All we are is our memory." The ultimate problem of biological systems is the adaptation to unknown futures. Nature's solution to this problem is based on the assumption that the past will repeat itself. The predictions of unknown futures are based on past experiences using the process called memory. The focus of our laboratory is to understand the neural substrates which enable us to remember past experiences and use this information to produce predictive and/or anticipatory behavior. |
